I don't get it, how do these files get "corrupted"? I'm looking at
microsoft.com's info, it's not clear how that happens in the first
place. I thought these files were protected by the OS.

Dobbs rewrites this, it is invalid precedent. States are
liable for denying needed abortions, e.g. TX.

Apparently, a clean shutdown is not enough. You need to pet the machine
and whisper sweet nothings into its vents or it'll start cutting itself.

It's embarrassing. The fact that the operating system keeps breaking
itself is the reason why it becomes "slow" over time for a majority of
its users. The problem is that the users have no idea how to fix this
and there is no useful utility which does these kinds of repairs for
them. They'll clean the cache and properly uninstall software, but they
won't usually touch the system files. Meanwhile, these are at the root
of most of their issues.

You have an underlying issue going on here. More than likely a sick hdisk.
Check the smartdata logs and investigate because I'll wager no matter what
OS you load up you will have issues.

I once had similar issues and it turned out to be the motherboard hdisk controller
spewing garbage out to the drive.
Not an easy find but I did find it eventually.

I would love for Microsoft to explain how an operating system which is
always shut down properly, where USB devices are also safely removed,
and where updates are always promptly applied manages to break itself.
