I canceled my boycott of McDonald's, and enjoyed a wonderful lunch,
also have had countless sodas, and talked a lot with my GF, we'll do
more so when she gets to work. Not a perfect day, but better than I'd
been feeling lately, overall.

Well, in the space of less than a week, I was disappointed by the
service three times, but today I realized I couldn't even remember the
most important one, and I already had points for a free Filet-O-Fish,
and I could thus buy one, get one free, and afford the two I like to
have for a meal, as they're not as big as some of their other
sandwiches.

I tried Starbucks coffee exactly once since it's the one coffee shop
inside the nearby mall here. My wife just wanted a coffee in general and
we figured that they can't possibly screw that one up. She took some
specialty thing which was apparently okay, but mine was a straight-up
two sugars and two milks affair. No joke, it was the worst coffee I've
ever had. Even Folgers was better. It tasted like the heated dirt Peter
the Klöwn used to mention all the time.

You can eat light at both places, but what's the point? The basic CFA
combo #1 is a fantastic fried chicken sandwich with 2 dill chips on
buttered bun (no lettuce, tomato, onions, mustard, mayo, etc), waffle
fries, and drink (soda or tea). The crunchy breading is the best there
is. You dip the waffle fries in a mix of CFA sauce and ketchup. Finish
off with Dr Pepper.

It's gotten expensive, though, nearly $10 last I recall.

Urp... I get a CostCo rotisserie chicken a couple of times a year but I'm
not too big on chicken. Too many skinless, boneless chicken breasts at one
time. I just don't do fast food, any of it.

There is that. When I was in school the architects would pull all-nighters
to get their models done. I'd help with some of the tasks. At some point
they'd take up a collection and I would head to McDonalds. iirc a burger
was 19 cents and 20 bucks would be two or three big bags.

Even the food trucks that show up at events in the summer are pushing $15.
I'd rather pay $15 a pound for a piece of cow.
