Early in the article and later notes the software developer is named
Allen, but never once says he or him. Instead says 'they' several times.

Believe you me, I blasted this creep.

ha!

It almost did. But I set the creep straight and the sun will rise again

1 Me to creep:

"In your article about getting Linux to run in a .pdf file, you
constantly refer to the programmer as 'they', when HE is a male. What's
your problem?"

2 creep to Me:

"Gender is uncertain from the username vk6_"

3 Me back to creep:

"Total bullshit. YOU wrote the article, and YOU wrote 'aka ading2210/Allen'

So you knew his name was Allen, and you knew he was a male. But you
used 'they' and 'their' anyway. Evil.

It's pro-DEI and pro-trans people like you that are ruining Linux/FOSS.
I won't even try a Linux distro with DEI, pronouns, or 'codes of conduct'.

I guess you don't know better, and maybe you never will, but ALL
technology is about the code and design and functionality, not the
sex/race/disability of the creator.

The creeps at NixOS literally kicked the founder out because he wouldn't
set aside board seats for "marginalized" people. Ridiculous.

If you had any integrity you would revise and repost your article to
refer to Allen as he and him. But I know you won't."

He never replied or revised the article, but at least he was
well-chastised for being pathetic.

The open-source is now infested with these pedophiles. It's truly
nauseating and taking away from the enjoyment one might get from using
Linux. The sad part is that Apple and Microsoft are just as woke. Where
these child diddlers are breeding is beyond me, but I'd love to destroy
their base the way the characters of the old arcade game Gauntlet did.

They are, they clearly are. That's why I've gotten to a point where I
believe that we're all just better off choosing the best product rather
than thinking that any of these software or hardware companies share our
values. There is nothing heroic about using Linux. A lot of us have
deluded ourselves into thinking that we're changing something by using
it, but now it appears that supporting the operating system is feeding
the very people who would want us to be removed from the face of the
Earth. At this point, if I'm going to spend money, I'll only look at
whether the hardware or software I'm buying actually provides me with
the entirety of the functionality I am looking for.

I don't think I'm changing anything in society by using Linux. What I'm
changing is getting rid of the control Microsoft and Apple wants to have on
my computing. Open Source is not a religion (at least not for me) it's a
means to a freer computing platform where I can make my own choices, without
ads and without my OS "reporting home" 24/7. Unfortunately, just like the
world in general, there are a lot of Woke morons involved in Open Source.
Until the aspell spell checker tries to replace "him," "her" or "it" with
"they" or some other asinine "gender" word then I'll keep using it.

Yeah. Hopefully this crap doesn't show up in LibreOffice. TextMaker keeps

Why are you making such a big deal of it, though? I swear, if I had
to judge every business by some grandiose moral code, I'd starve. It's
a lot easier to just accept the things you cannot change, as they say
in 12 Step, it's like you have Linux as an option, and it's competing
rather well with the commercial OSes, but some people involved in
producing distros probably have views I'd disagree with. Does that
make their code not work? Do I have to know about all their views to
use their product? It's not sensible because there's very finite
choice in a desktop OS, GNU/Linux is the only platform that delivers
something like people are accustomed to, without being paid/
proprietary. I can tolerate the programmers/developers/coders having
their political views.

If the views of the programmers are that homosexuals need to be treated

So you're judging the product by the content of television
advertising. I just don't operate in that world, TV commercials are
in one ear and out the other, mostly. Then again, I'll never forget
seeing the 1997 Spice Girls Pepsi commercial.

a lot easier to just accept the things you cannot change, as they say
in 12 Step, it's like you have Linux as an option, and it's competing
rather well with the commercial OSes, but some people involved in
producing distros probably have views I'd disagree with. Does that
make their code not work? Do I have to know about all their views to
use their product? It's not sensible because there's very finite
choice in a desktop OS, GNU/Linux is the only platform that delivers
something like people are accustomed to, without being paid/
proprietary. I can tolerate the programmers/developers/coders having
their political views.
If the views of the programmers are that homosexuals need to be treated
better than heterosexuals, that the black community should get
preferential treatment in the hiring process or that saying something
like "White lives matter" is racist, I don't want to touch their products.
Business is business, I will do business with just about anyone.
Waffle House is known to support right-wing politics, yeah OK but they
make a fuckin' bangin' omelet, so maybe I'll just have to give a few
pennies, indirectly, to the prez.
I think we're in the same boat as far as technology goes. I'd like to go
to Linux exclusively but I have to admit that the events of the past few
years have me rethinking that since it looks like wokism, not
innovation, is going to be the priority for open-source going forward.

You're right, but how long do you think conservative developers will
stick around when they see that they're being demonized left and right
whenever they submit to a project? Look at what they did to the guy who
was actively improving Thunderbird. He had to fork the program to
Betterbird just to be able to keep improving the software. Who knows if
he'll continue doing so if so few of us donate to help him out. Even
after they fork, there's a good chance that one of the people working
with them will turn on them because of some political garbage just like
they did with Lunduke. Heck, a few years ago, while he was exclusively
working on software for a living, people turned on him because some of
his code was proprietary. He made everything open only to find that few
if any people actually bothered to donate to help him out. They would
rather see him starve and get free code than even consider sending him a
few bucks for his work.

You don't have to go to Open Source sites to find this pronoun stupidity. I
wonder if DuFuS will be as "forthcoming" when he finds the same garbage on
pro Microsoft or Apple sites? Something tells me that the silence will be
deafening.

At least Microsoft's 365 "Woke checker" is still optional (it appears)...

https://blogs.illinois.edu/view/25/520413787

Microsoft Word's Wokeness checker is asleep on the job

Microsoft has added a diversity checker to its Office 365 spelling and
grammar tool (h/t Tony Thorne (@tonythorne007). You can find it by going
to Word’s Preferences menu. Click the Spelling and Grammar option, then
Grammar & Refinements. If you check the appropriate boxes in the
drop-down menu, Word will scan your writing for age and cultural bias,
ethnic slurs, gender bias, gender-neutral pronouns, gender-specific
language, racial bias, sexual orientation bias, and socioeconomic bias.
The goal is to replace the sensitivity readers that some publishers use
to vet manuscripts for conscious or unconscious bias and anything else
that might offend an audience.

I unleashed Microsoft Woke, as its right-wing critics might call it, on
some passages about gendered and genderless pronouns to see whether it
could read for inclusivity better than a human can.
...

Follow the link (above) if you have any real interest in this crap — it
might help to also have a strong stomach.

Since Microsoft serves the legal and financial communities, it doesn't
have a choice but to keep such idiocy optional. While businesses and
academia can afford to subscribe to this woke stupidity, the other are
number-based and don't care whether you would prefer to be addressed as
"ma'am" when they refuse to give you a mortgage because your credit
score is complete shit. They also don't care if you think you're a woman
after you've raped a dozen of them.

number-based and don't care whether you would prefer to be addressed as
"ma'am" when they refuse to give you a mortgage because your credit
score is complete shit. They also don't care if you think you're a woman
after you've raped a dozen of them.
Actually the financial companies are dropping this Woke DEI crap. They're
finding out it's getting in their way of hiring competent people. I wonder
how long it will take for Microsoft and Apple to figure that out?

Early in the article and later notes the software developer is named
Allen, but never once says he or him.  Instead says 'they' several times.
Believe you me, I blasted this creep.
And you've just gotten an answer as to why I went back to Windows. The
experience is extremely disheartening. I don't want to use Linux if it
gives these child predators the impression that I approve of them in any
way.

Microsoft Word's Wokeness checker is asleep on the job
Microsoft has added a diversity checker to its Office 365 spelling and
to Word’s Preferences menu.

I'm wondering the same thing. However, it seems that they will only drop
it once they stop getting government kickbacks for subscribing to that
garbage. I imagine that will change soon now that a normal human being
is in office again. He's also just removed Pedo Joe's security
clearance, so you know he's not going to take it easy on the child
molesters this time around.

Ultimately, for the financial companies, it comes down to cold, hard cash.
So if something is in the way of getting more money, they'll get rid of that
something. Which seems to be the case with DEI, which started happening even
when the senile pervert was still in power. It turned out to be a detriment.
Apple and Microsoft will probably never "officially" dump the "gender
affirmation" crap, but they'll probably begin to ignore it more and more and
they're main, money-making market is business.
